*SPOILER ALERT*
In my older films I always included an analysis of the movie's message. The issue in "Extinguished" is, simply, the death sentence. The pros and cons are summarized in the dialogue between the Reverend (K4ownzall) and the Stellar Alliance engineer (Goofparade).
There are arguments for both sides in this film. Here are a few events to note...
Both Hector (A_N_D) and Nora (Dulci) perform acts of redemption after their escape--Hector sacrifices himself to save the ship's crew, and Nora resists the temptation to escape through the use of drugs, as well as putting an end to Dr. Ein's nefarious career. On the other hand, they also both commit murder in the course of their escape (Hector shoots the engineer, and Nora does in Dr. Ein).
Hector's final scene shows his face peering through the round gray window of the pod. Yet there is still hope that perhaps his soul will be redeemed through his final acts. Nora seems to be the only one who escapes safely, yet her final scene also shows her peering through a round gray window. Does this mean her act may have damned her despite her noble intent?
There are also additional issues such as the Reverend's good intentions versus the disastrous results, and the shifting sympathies depicting the Freedomists first as terrorists, and later as saviors.

A special note of thanks to Hagent for the animated overlays (ungodly stuff, as usual), and for the hair mods by BudBundyMullet at www.freewebs.com/6headedmonster. Thank you Sherwin Liu for the gracious use of your special overlays. Thanks also go out to Trewill7 for creating my signature banner. Some reviewers have expressed a fondness for the egg pod, so I can't resist adding that I myself created that! Finally, a huge, huge thanks to Norrie for composing some stellar music scores which really added impact to those scenes.

For those who have watched my "the PASSAGE" mini-series, you may notice that the Freedomists are the good guys in "the Passage"--the Holdfast Confederacy. This tale is told from the perspective of their adversary, the Stellar Alliance. "Extinguished" takes place fifty years before the events of "the PASSAGE" when the war for the Holdfast's independence was just starting. By the way, Dr. Ein is a distant relative of Rear Admiral Mel Ein in "the PASSAGE"--thus the family resemblance ;)
I spent three months writing and filming the story you've just seen, and now that it is finally done, I am reluctant to leave this universe. However, I will return in a few months to complete "the PASSAGE" mini-series. Now...it's on to "the Source" (my collaboration with Trewill7), "FATED 2", and then "Foreign Powers" (a film dealing with international terrorism).
