Notes about Richard Feynman, one of the lead character in Incident at Oak Ridge
Beside assisting the Manhattan Project, Richard Phillips Feynman (1918-1988) was also an unscrupulous practical joker, a womanizer, a proud painter and bongo player, a lock picker, an eccentric, a free spirit, an adventurer, a decipherer of Maya hieroglyphs, a biologist, an explorer in quantum computing and nanotechnology, with a measured IQ of 125.
After his work at Los Alamos, Feynman was transfered at Oak Ridge where he aided engineers in calculating safety procedures for material storage, so that inadvertent critical accidents could be avoided.
Feynman is the author of the books What Do You Care What Other People Think?, There is Plenty of Room at the Bottom, The Feynman Lectures on Physics and the famous Surely You're Joking, Mr Feynman.
His relationship with his first wife Arline is portrayed in the 1996 movie Infinity.
Some bad points
Despite having worked and reworked many scenes to correct this and that, there are still some set dressing errors and a couple of camera point of view which do not work properly. They appear to me only after dozens of screening, so they may escape the viewer watching the film only once. And, in this online version, there are two editing glitches clearly visible which are not in the hi-resolution version.
Two or three lines could also have been better. They were redone, actually. But, because of important difference in sound quality, I choose to keep some retakes and not others, or in some case to edit pieces of retakes with original ones.
The rendering in Vegas takes six hours. I reworked three differents versions to have the compressed sound effects relatively efficient, but there are still some SFX not working properly in the online version.
Also, you'll see one image flickering between some scenes. That's Vegas creating a fade between the last image of one scene and the first of the following one. I haven't been able to get rid of this problem.
